Well the first round is in the books, here’s what you’ve missed…

Camillo got off to a nice start, posting a score of -9, 63, good enough for a three stroke and day one lead. He posted 8 birdies, 1 eagle, and 1 bogey. The eagle was on the par 4 second hole where he holed out his second shot. I told you guys to expect some pretty low scores this week…just think if Tiger were playing AND 100% healthy. No offense to Camillo, but if he can shoot 63 in round one on the North Course, I can’t imagine what TW would score. I have to agree with Dan saying that Mahan has something special up his sleeve for at least one round this week…put him on the easier North Course and maybe we’ll see something special.

Matthew Goggin and Scott Sterling both shot a 69 on on the harder South Course, which is a very impressive feat under any conditions. Davis Love III shot a 66. He’s trying to earn his way into the WGC Match Play Championship with a good showing this week and next. He played day one on the North Course, so we’ll see how badly he wants in that tournament when he his the South Course. We should start to see some of the scores level off while players switch courses. The higher scores could start to drop as a player goes form South to North Course and vice versa for the players going form the North to the South.

As for the Foursome picks:

Goosen: -1
Marino: +6
Mahan: +2
Harrington: -1

As the old saying goes: “Lotta golf still to be played”
