Augusta was playing pretty easy today in ideal scoring conditions.  Chad Campbell, Jim Furyk and Hunter Mahan all lit up the course with a ton of golfers close by including Tim Clark, Angel Cabrera, Mike Weir, Aaron Baddelly, Sean O’Hair, Kenny Perry, Andres Romero and Eldrick Woods.

It was so easy out there that both Campbell and Mahan had a shot at the course record of 63 deep into their opening rounds and there were a ton of red numbers on the leaderboard.  The par 5’s were just hemorrhaging birdies all day as most were go-able in two.

Just awesome golf played all day and a great opening round with a closely bunched leaderboard.  There isn’t going to be any long winded analysis after the opening day because there are just too many guys so close together that the leaders really haven’t seperated themselves but I know tomorrow is gonna be awesome.

Just one more quick note…maybe we should’ve waited to damn the changes made to Augusta.  The course looks like it’s playing perfectly when the weather isn’t 40 degrees with 15mph winds.
