Ah yes, Davis Love and Boo’s personal stomping grounds.

Good putters need not apply to this tournament as, frankly, it doesn’t mean a damn thing.  These greens are so small and the fairways so narrow that ballstriking and shortgame are both at a premium, something that both Davis Love and Boo are quite adept at.  I don’t really care about what happened last year, but you should probably know that Boo Weekley is the two-time defending champion and Davis Love has won here 5-times.  There’s a nugget of info for you…do with it what you like.

We have a decent field at Harbour Town this week including guys like Boo, Zach Johnson, Jim Furyk, Camillo, everyone’s favorite prodigy Rory and Chez Reavie.  Why did I mention Chez Reavie?  Because I did, damnit.  Sure, I don’t like watching him hit a 150-yard 4 iron or shank a putt, but hot damn is that a cool name.  Speaking of cool names, I’m a little upset not to see Master’s afterthought Renier Saxton tee it up.  That’s an all-time name right thurr.

After the jump…the picks.

spencer096 picks:

Sam the Eagle Jim Furyk is gonna win this week.  Yea, he frittered away a shot at the Masters but his game is rounding into form, and in case you haven’t heard me say this a trillion times the last two days, HARBOUR TOWN REQUIRES STRATEGERY!!!  Um…doesn’t that sound like Mr. Furyk?  Sometimes it’s that easy, ladies, and that’s why I make the big bucks.

Danfinuc picks:

I think Rory McIlroy is set for an American win. 19 years old or not, he has contended in just about every tournament since he started to play in the States. His game is amazing, and definitely has the mindset to win. We’ll see if he is able to play with a little more finesse that is needed at Harbour Town but I think he’ll come out on top.

The Real AC says:

Boo Weekley. He’s already won twice here, so lets roll with it. His year so far hasn’t been stellar to say the least, but playing a course where you’ve already won twice before can really help get you back on track. I’m going to be wearing my camo Cleveland Golf hat all weekend long baby. Doin’ the bull dance.

Get Off The Schneid says:

Camillo Villegas is the pick of the week…and it has nothing to do with the fact that I just watched Spiderman 3 for the first time. The dude can hit greens (ranked 1st on Tour) and will need to throw darts on this course in order to take down the 2-time defending champ in the camo hat. Spiderman doesn’t have a lot of experience at this event (3 starts, 1 Top 10) but he is playing pretty consistent golf right now and only needs a couple of breaks to win it…like the guy in first blowing a 2-shot lead in 2 holes. Speaking of, have you seen the video of KP’s cheerleader daughter?
