Yessir, the band is back together. Hell, we even picked up a new member. All the hype, drama, and controversy surrounding the 2013 Masters tournament was too much to keep us away. But we’ll get to all that later. All you need to know is that none of us played Augusta this past weekend, which means we’re kicking off our 2014 Masters campaign!

A lot happened this weekend at Augusta, but let me first and foremost congratulate Adam Scott. Scott has been one hell of a Tour player for a long time now and the only reason it’s taken him this long to win his first big one is that dreaded flatstick. So it’s only fitting that he won this tournament with clutch putting. His always impressive ball-striking kept him in the mix, but it was his putting that earned him the prestigious green jacket. The next stop on Tour is Redstone Golf Club Tournament Course for the Shell Houston Open. There is a great field present this week for a pre-Masters tuneup. There are some pretty nice pairings scheduled for Thursday. Vijay Singh, Henrik Stenson, and Sergio Garcia are together, as well as Anthony Kim, Ernie Els, and Hunter Mahan. Some other notable players are Phil Mickelson, Greg Norman, Justin Leonard, K. J. Choi, and Padraig Harringon. Last year Johnson Wagner won this event and this year’s winner will take home $1.008 million of a $5.6 million purse. Wagner finished 2 shots  in front of Geoff Ogilvy to finish the tournament -16. Fred Couples finished T4/-13, Pat Perez finished T8/-10, and K. J. Choi finished T11/-9 among other notable finishes. The course will play at a par 72 and 7457 yards so look for the big hitters to have the advantage. I wouldn’t be too surprised to see Ovilgy finish close to the top of the leaderboard again this year. He has 2 victories already this year and hasn’t finished outside of the top 32 yet this year. Davis Love III has to take home the victory this week to qualify for the Masters next week, good luck. Last year DL3 finished T26/-5. And the picks…

There’s nothing to talk about in the golf world, and damnit, that sucks.  So how are we going to spend our time before the Benz in a few weeks and the “real” start to the tour in a few months?  Why, listing the hell out of everything we can, that’s how.

Today, we’re not going to order these like in the Under, instead, we’ll just throw em up in any order because they’re all so deserving (or undeserving…whatever).  So lets cut the BS and get right to the meat.

Adam Scott: Where to begin…maybe the four top-10’s in majors since 2000 or the fact that he’s missed TWICE as many cuts in the same time?  Or what about stealing Tiger’s swing, despite it’s ineffiencies, and failing to improve at all?  Or we could use my personal favorite…the unimaginative short game and terrible clutch putting (Houston aside).  All sound good.

Whatever the reason is, I’m sick of seeing him on TV because chicks like him.  I want to see good golf, not sprayed drives and someone who looks like they’re having about as much fun as if they were at a funeral (hey, at least Vijay is a good golfer…his game is fun even if he looks bored to tears).  Scott just doesn’t care and all we see on TV is him wasting his ridiculous amount of talent.  If he carried himself like Geoff Ogilvy, he’d have multiple majors…easily.
